Appointments

If you would like an appointment with any of our healthcare professionals then you can do this by calling us on 01443203414 or you can submit your request via our Econsult web page which is open Monday- Friday 8am-6pm.

When calling the surgery a receptionist will ask you for a brief description of your problem. All Telephone calls and Econsults will be triaged to assess their urgency and appointments will be given with a relevant healthcare professional based on this. We will always prioritise those that need an appointment soonest first. If you submit an Econsult you will recieve a response from the practice by the end of the next working day or sooner. This response might offer a solution or it could tell you in what time frame you should be seen/spoken to. You may be signposted to another service outside of the surgery if that is relevant to your issue.eg. Pharmacy, Dentist, Optometrist etc. You can request a routine appointment (4 weeks) with the Doctor at any time of the day.

We always try to fit in everyone as soon as possible, but this might not meet your expectations in time frame sometimes. Please do not take out your frustrations on our Practice Staff, as we are trying to do the best we can with the resources we are given. Please see below leaflet:

eConsult

eConsult enables you to access self-care advice on a wide range of conditions, as well as advice on what conditions you should contact a local pharmacy for or access advice from NHS Direct Wales. If none of these options are appropriate for you, you can complete and submit online a template for your condition / symptoms / query to the practice and you will receive an email response by the end of the following working day. You can use this system at a time to suit you and we may well be able to solve your issue without the need for you to book an appointment. We would encourage you to use this system wherever possible.

Please note that this service is not available outside of the surgery opening hours. For any requests after we are closed please ring 111

Practice nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Pharmacist

All medication review and queries are now dealt with by our in-house pharmacist.

First contact physiotherapist

Our physiotherapist is able to assess all musculo-skeletal issues and advise on the best course of action. Please book to see the physiotherapist rather than a GP if you have a musculo-skeletal issue.

SMS reminders

Please register your mobile number with the practice and make sure it is up to date. We send an automated SMS reminder for booked appointments in advance and you can use this to cancel the appointment if you need to,

Cancellations

We understand that you may need to change your appointment. It will take just a few minutes over the phone for us to process this.

Chaperones

If you require a chaperone you may bring a friend or relative with you or request a trained member of staff when making your appointment.

Emergencies

In case of life-threatening emergencies e.g. suspected heart attack, haemorrhage or major accident dial 999 for the paramedic ambulance - do not delay.
